A new Site for the 48-HOUR RIDE

2017-05

A Major Event is Coming to Mirabel!

Mirabel, May 16, 2017 –  The 11th edition of the 48-HOUR RIDE Make-A-Wish® / Fais-Un-VœuMD Québec will take place on September 15-16-17, 2017 at the Circuit ICAR at Montréal-Mirabel International Airport. The 48-HOUR RIDE is among one of the largest cycling events that takes place in Quebec.

After 10 years of being held at Parc Jean-Drapeau, on the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, the event moves to Mirabel, a place known for great wide areas. "The 48-HOUR RIDE has grown tremendously over the years. In 2007, we had 98 participants, and last year we had more than 1,600 cyclists on the site," said Pierre Thériault, Founder and Executive Producer of the 48-HOUR RIDE. "We definitely needed more space!"

“Aéroports de Montréal is pleased to welcome this event to Mirabel. We are also proud to encourage employees to participate in this activity through the ADMirables teams!  On the new track, participants will see the dynamic of the aeronautical and industrial park while helping to grant the wishes of children,” said Philippe Rainville, President and CEO of Aéroports de Montréal. It should be noted that Mr. Rainville will be returning to the event this year.

The 48-HOUR RIDE is the biggest annual fundraiser of the Foundation.  Since 2007, this cycling challenge raised over $9.4 million with the support of thousands of participants, donors, sponsors and volunteers.

Focusing on mobilization, team spirit and self-improvement, the event attracts both businesses and individuals, whether they be occasional cyclists or cycling enthusiasts. A team is composed of 6 participants and must always have at least one member on the track throughout the duration of the event.
