Thanks to 575 participants across the country and generous supporters, Make-A-Wish® Canada is pleased to announce that its national signature fundraising event, Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope, raised $1.3 million in 2018.

With more than 65,000 participants across 15 events nationwide, Make-A-Wish Canada and 365 Sports are happy to announce that the Canadian 5K Foam Fest exceeded its fundraising goal for 2018. Through gear check, participant fundraising and donations, the 5K Foam Fest raised more than $90,000 for children living with critical illnesses across Canada.

Cycling event will raise money to help create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses
September 11, 2018, MONTREAL – From Sept. 14 to 16, more than 1,500 cyclists will take over the ICAR track, and part of the Montreal-Mirabel main tarmac, for the 12th annual 48-HOUR RIDE in support of Make-A-Wish® Quebec.

Wendy has been a nurse practitioner in pediatric neurosurgery for 15 years and has spent 19 years working at Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton. She has referred hundreds of children to Make-A-Wish, but Wendy’s connection to the wish-granting organization is especially personal. Her daughter, Olivia, has hydrocephalus, a condition in which there is a buildup of fluid in her brain. She was born 16 weeks premature and had bleeding in her brain. Olivia has now had 30 operations on her brain, 19 operations on her spine, and has spent 416 days of her life in hospital.

September 19, 2018, MONTREAL – The largest annual fundraiser hosted by Make-A-Wish® Quebec took place this past weekend in Mirabel, attracting more than 1,600 cyclists to the ICAR circuit and part of the Montréal-Mirabel airport’s main tarmac. Thanks to the dedication of participants and the generosity of supporters, $2,015,000 was raised to help grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses in the province, $400,000 more than last year.

Humanoid robot will act as support tool to help children cope better with medical procedures
September 5, 2018, SASKATOON – Mason was born on Oct. 10, 2010 (10/10/10), which happened to be his favourite number. He was a happy kid and loved to smile. Like many boys his age, Mason enjoyed spending time outside, playing with his dog, camping, swimming, fishing and going for car rides.
In 2016, Mason was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and his entire world quickly changed.

On May 27th, around 200 people of all ages gathered for a fun family bowling day!
Organized by StrikeOut Cancer, the 8th annual Bowl-O-Thon was held at Centre de
Quilles 440 in Laval. The event was a success and raised $10,000 to help make Anthony’s
wish come true!
