I wish to go to the Super Bowl

Stavros lives with a nervous system disorder that affects his mobility and balance, and creates daily challenges for him. However, this does not prevent him from being positive and full of energy. When we met him to discuss his wish, he was as charming and cheerful as ever.

Stavros loves watching sports, especially hockey, baseball and football. Since starting high school, he has been getting together with his friends to watch the Super Bowl every year. His dearest wish was to watch the Super Bowl, not on screen this time, but live in the United States! The Make-A-Wish Quebec team got work to organize a dream experience for him in Minneapolis, which was buzzing with football fever.

Upon their arrival, Stavros and his family were treated to a private welcome reception hosted by one of Make-A-Wish® America’s partners, Dave & Buster’s. The rest of the weekend included a guided tour of the stadium, a virtual reality experience, a meeting with former football players, a photo shoot with the famous Vince Lombardi trophy, a visit to the Mall of America and, finally, the long-awaited moment, the game between the NFC champions and the AFC champions at the U.S. Bank Stadium!

Stavros came back with several souvenirs, including a Vikings helmet and an autographed football, as well as memories he'll never forget. He mentioned, "I think about it a lot to remind myself how happy, how good my life is despite my difficulties."

A big thank you to the Keurig 5 team who made this wish possible through the Adopt-A-Wish program, as well as to Dave & Buster’s, TuGo, Make-A-Wish Minnesota and all those who helped to grant Stavros' wish!
